ミシガン州立大学のGregg Howe先生の特別セミナーです。
植物ホルモンのジャスモン酸がどのようにして防卫诱导を来すか、についてお话いただきました。

題目：Hormones from lipids: Molecular mechanism of jasmonate signaling
講師：Prof. Gregg Howe, Michigan State University
要旨
The lipid-derived plant hormone jasmonate regulates the production of specialized defense compounds that confer resistance to a broad spectrum of herbivores and pathogens. Jasmonate-induced defense responses are tightly linked to growth inhibition and yield loss, a phenomenon known as the growth-defense tradeoff. The Howe laboratory is using both tomato and Arabidopsis as model systems to investigate the molecular mechanism of jasmonate action in the context of growth-defense balance. Recent progress from the Howe lab will be presented.
米国ミシガン州立大学贬辞飞别教授は植物の病害虫抵抗性诱导机构に関する研究を长年続け、ジャスモン酸受容因子颁翱滨1-闯础窜复合体の同定をNature誌に相次いで発表し、米国科学アカデミー会員に抜擢された気鋭の植物科学者です。今回、フルブライト基金のサポートで来日され、山口にも立ち寄っていただく機会を得ました。ご自身の肩書とは違ってとてもフレンドリーな方で、クリアでわかりやすい英語で話してくださいます。このセミナーにはどなたでも参加いただけます。物見遊山やネイティブ英語ヒアリング目的で結構ですのでぜひご参集ください。連獣棟４階の农学部大講義室で５月１９日午後４時からです。（问い合わせ先：松井健二 内線5850）
